Partial autograph letter, dated 25 May 1884. On letterhead of J.O. Halliwell-Phillipps, Hollingbury Copse, Brighton. Thanks recipient for the suggestion as to Rocque; refers to Newcourt's of 1659. Recipient is likely William Rendle. Autograph letter signed from J.A. Froude, dated April 20. On letterhead of 5 Onslow Gardens, S.W. Concerning a copy of Cromwell's will he made from a draft shown to him by Mr. Brewer. Letter addressed Dear Sir; recipient is likely Rendle. Autograph letter signed from H. Huth, dated 25 May 1877. On letterhead of 30, Prince's Gate, S.W. Letter addressed Dear Sir; recipient is likely Rendle. Huth writes that the "portrait of Queen Elizabeth in the Philobiblon volume is a very good and accurate copy of the one on the original broadside." Autograph letter signed from Harry Foster to Dr. Wm. Rendle, dated Feb. 1, 1886. On letterhead of Tolworth Hall, Surrey and addressed from Neckinger Mills. Asks about the painting of the sign-board of "the Devils' Neckinger," as his mother was born at the Neckinger House and he is interested in the neighborhood.

He was the brother of William Froude (1810-1879), engineer and naval architect, and of Richard Hurrell Froude (1803-1836), divine.
